"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure." ~ Marianne Williamson

A place of confidence, poise, art, grace, and refinement. Sanguine Portraiture was created by Joanna Booth of Joanna Booth Photography as a designated space to create portraits that have a natural, simple, yet powerful quality. I love images of lightly styled hair and very little makeup.

ABOUT

I am funny, confident, optimistic, and a risk-taker. I am a dreamer, often with my head filled with elaborate future plans and goals.

Artistically, I love the contrast of beautiful subjects in dark backgrounds which produce rich black and white portraits. It exemplifies beauty in vogue through  simplicity.

You'll find that I am drawn to editorial posing. But I will have you laughing during your session. I love to fill a gallery with a combination of dramatic, soft, whimsical, and ethereal images.

ABOUT

There are so many things I love. God, my family, road trips, rental cars, and 4 star hotels. I loved living in Alaska for over 11 years. I love water with ice cream, croissant pudding, and any Italian meal with seafood. I love, love, love to laugh. I love to laugh until tears come and I can't catch my breath. I really enjoy family time and get togethers. I enjoy cooking gourmet meals...often. I make an amazing 10 cheese macaroni! I'm opinionated, iced tea should have sugar and summers shouldn't be hotter than 70 degrees. My favorite season is fall on the East Coast. I have a love/hate relationship with big cities. I love children that just stare at me when I photograph them...those are iconic images.

I start every session with a consultation. Whether it is by phone or in-person at the studio, I want to talk with you. The consultation is built around hearing about your vision, your style, your story. I also want to know what kind of products you want to display in your home.

After our consultation, I research ideas for your session. I put together a Pinterest page of all my inspiration ideas, and also want you to share your inspiration with me. I craft a what to wear guide specific to your session to help you get ready. We will have several conversations in between to assist you and make you completely comfortable before your big day.

THE CONSULTATION

After our consultation I send a follow-up email detailing our conversation. I also send my pricing guide for review.

To schedule, clients invest $250 into their portrait session. The sitting fee covers my time, talent, planning, photoshoot, and premier reveal. It also covers hair/makeup, or goes towards your print purchase.

In three weeks, we will meet for your premier viewing sessions (the reveal). This is where you will see your images.  Clients generally spend between $1500-$2500 on their artwork.
